We are at a critical point! Request from Iranians outside of Iran

translated by Iran-e-Abad | source: An Iranian Blogger originally published on June 22
digg this!

We are at a critical point. In my opinion the content of this letter is very crucial and urgent. Please make sure you read it.

First, I apologize for the tone of my words. I write this letter in Tehran, in poor physical conditions and morale, on behalf of the Iranian people to Iranians outside Iran. I believe this matter is very important for the fate of Iran. As Napoleon said, only one step separates victory and defeat. We are exactly at that crucial step now.

Tonight, I was alone on the roof. It was just me and a young girl, a few houses away, who was shouting Allah-o-Akbar (God is great) with all her power. Her voice had something of Neda’s in it, so with all my remaining energy I shouted, screamed, “Don’t be afraid, Don’t be afraid, We are all together!”. But even I got tired after half an hour later, came down to my room, a little scared, a little frustrated. But I could still hear the girl shouting “Iranians with dignity, Support Support!”

These words are coming from the people’s heart here. These past days, I’ve been here and I have felt everything with my whole being. Here in Tehran, people are a little scared. They have murmured in people’s ears that Basij identifies the houses from which people shout and mobilizes night attacks. The video broadcast yesterday on CNN, where some women are screaming in a house has made the belief stronger. People are scared. Neda’s death has perplexed people. State media have started a sophisticated psychological warfare campaign. These days, they have put thugs everywhere, in every corner of the streets. Today I was terrified when I saw that there were only a few thousand protesting in 7tir sq. God is my witness, we have made our efforts.

Now it’s a critical time, our compatriots living abroad, we have the following immediate needs. If you don’t do these we will lose. I believe under these circumstances, without a prompt action, the enemy will severely suppress us.

1.Today we heard many people saying we can not win. Give us some spirit and motivation by reminding us of the important accomplishments made so far. Isn’t delegitimizing this government enough?! Is being united like this a small thing? Today, a Revolutionary Guard’s commander in Tehran was arrested because of his refusal to implement a crackdown order. Is this is a small triumph? We repeat, Help us maintain our spirits!

2. Invite terrified people to low cost actions; for example, pulling out money from governmental banks. Believe me but these days even wearing black in the working place (as a sign of mourning) is scary, let alone going on a strike. Please don’t criticize us for this. We did everything we could, everything within our powers, for a week. Think how you can convince a villager to pull out his/her money from the banks.

3.Don’t let state-run websites crush people’s spirit. Why didn’t you continue your DDOS attacks on the government news websites, such as Fars news? Do onto them what they are doing onto us! Please install the auto-reload plugin on firefox and bring their websites down again.

4.To create fear and frustration, the state TV, in a showmanship act, has asked people to send them pictures of the demonstrators. Explain to us, haven’t we already put our own photos and videos on the Internet?! In fact this is our strength, we should not be afraid. This is Islamic Republic TV’s psychological warfare.

5.By unfounded charges and accusations that foreign media are instigating chaos in Iran, the government has put them in a passive defensive position. Ask the foreign media to show our imperfect videos and reports. Governments, especially Obama should not remain neutral. They shouldn’t sell the people for the benefit of the rulers. The whole world has to ask the regime to run a re-election. The world should understand that we have risked everything and we are doing whatever that’s within our powers. Lack of explicit support and recognition by European countries and the United States will be very effective. Tell Obama, not to sell us for this government, because they will deceive him too. The likelihood of Mousavi, Karrubi and Khatami getting arrested is increasing every day. Do something! The foreign media has to increase the cost of these arrests.

I will get green instead of red white and blue. I told stores i went to today, Bon Jovi said green, if you have green ribbons in the back, bring it out front of your store. God Bless the Citizens of Iran.

I will be here until the end. I will not tire. I will not relent. I know that you won’t either. You are brave. You are an inspiration to me. I am so proud to call myself and Iranian, the most courageous and valiant people on the face of the earth.

I dont have any in the bank. we will keep posting blogs and put pressure on obama! For presenting yourself on the battlefield i give thanks. You are fighting to be a free man, and you will be a free man.fight and you may die, run and yo will live, for at least a little. And when you lay there dying in your bed, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all of this from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to tell our enemies that that may take our life’s but they will never take our freedom!!!

    • We are seeing true Islam in the people, not the haram practices of criminals descecrating bodies, denying Muslim burial rights, denying mourning, violating every aspect of the Muslim faith. When we hear your cries of Allah U Akbar, you are at your most powerful! Remember this, day and night, Allah knows all, sees all and no amount of money or power escapes his judgment. Fancy titles like Supreme Leader will not protect Khamanei from the Last Day. Into the fire for all of them! You know this is the truth! Allah sees everything and is with you!

    • I can not agree with the statements made here. Iran has had elections and the people have chosen their leader. Overwhelmingly, the votes were for Ahmadinejad, whether you like it or not. 11 million votes do not lie. A million vote difference would be possible to be a consequence of rigging, but not 11 million. Apart from that, we know that the anti-Ahmadinejad voters are from Teheran, it is also there were the rioters are located. the rest of the country and especially rural Iran are clearly behing Teheran. We always say in the West to respect democracy. Only if the consequences of that are unpopular with our governements, we say democracy failed. Here the people of Iran have chosen their leader and democracy has worked. Live with it! the governement should punish those that riot and protest against the state.

  • Sadly, there really isn’t a lot Obama or the United States can do for you except to voice outrage as to how you are being treated.

Sadly your government will just say that the Americans are behind everything.

Which is exactly what they’ve been doing with the British.

In fact, there is virtually nothing the US can do, even financially that they haven’t already done. There is very little financial activity between the two countries anyways.

But, you do have a point about the money. The Brits froze a very large Iranian bank account within the last few days and there are reports of money flowing out of Iran.

  • I am simply going to state my opinion. I am not a tactician, I have no military or civil disobedience experience. I am an engineer by trade, and I live in the U.S.

I think it’s clear, based upon reports, that the situation in Tehran is no longer conducive to effective public action. It seems that Khamenei and his son (and their allies) have turned the city into a garrison/prison by bringing in tens of thousands of bona-fide criminals to attack the citizenry. There is nothing you can accomplish by public action under these circumstances.

Far be it from me to tell you how to live your life, but in my opinion, only mass, coordinated, armed violent response can overcome what is being wrought in Tehran. And that will require a very underground movement to be developed and organized. It will take time, and patience. But I do not see how anything other than armed, organized resistance can work under these circumstances.

Please do not risk your life by further public displays of dissent. Your sacrifice is surely noble, but I think this is a situation that requires more than noble sacrifice to enact change. It is heartbreaking to those of us on the outside, powerless to intervene, to watch such courage and idealism met with low, criminal brutality. Iran needs you, and it needs you alive and free to act in the future.

Again, this is just my opinion.

    Reply to this message

    • im sitting here in the US but Iagree completely, If a mass millions cant mobilize now, then what you are suggesting is the way to go.

      Reply to this message

    • I want to be clear that I’m not saying the situation is hopeless: far from it. I think there’s a lot of hope, and I think what you’ve already accomplished is immeasurable and invaluable.

You have helped Khamenei to reveal himself for the small, false, pretender to a position he does not deserve, and more, to help show the dangers and flaws in the current system. Khamenei has been shown to the world to be a petty tyrant uninterested in the good of his country. He aspires to be a new Shah, with his son in his footsteps.

What I’m saying is that a change in tactics is now necessary. I don’t think you’re in a position to make further gains by doing what you’ve been doing.

As I said before, this is my opinion.

      Reply to this message

    • I agree completely. Remember, Obama has said that the whole world is watching, this is our duty; to protect the rights of repressed Iranians, by keeping them in the spotlight. We are all behind you, contacting the media, translating, spreading the word. The web of support outside Iran is growing and becoming organized. Whatever differences the Iranian diaspora has, your sacrifice has unified us. Yours will be the new government, the leaders abroad recognize this and are positioning themselves accordingly, ready to hear how you want to do business. The Iranian diaspora is intelligent and powerful and they still feel the pull of the homeland. No-one wants to do business with Ahmadinejad. All we needed was a sign and you have given it to us, Don’t be afraid but be wise, it may be long and protracted, we are all in it for the long run- use your resources carefully and above let’s all stay together.

    • I am a "regular" U.S. citizen.

Many, many people here in the U.S. are watching with strong emotions in support of the Iranian people who are demanding that their government respect the wishes of the Iranian people to elect their own leaders.

I must point out that there is much credible evidence that we in the U.S. had our election stolen from us by George W. Bush and his allies in the state of Florida in 2000. However, we had not then the collective clarity, intelligence, and courage now shown by the Iranian people! YOU are showing US how democracy should be defended! BRAVO! You are today much more like we were 250 years ago, when we had our revolutionary spirit. Now I fear we are too comfortable and smug to be roused from our soft chairs in front of the TV.

So, what can "regular" Americans do?

Techies: I do not know if it is appropriate or how to do a DDOS "attack" on Iranian government websites. Is this a legitimate idea? (I do not want to do anything to jeopardize the ability of the Iranian people to use the Internet to coordinate their efforts and keep us informed.) If it is a good idea, could you please respond with why it is a good idea and then publish exact, clear instructions on how to do this? Or give us a URL where we can get specific (and non-techie) instructions? The instructions must be so that your mother or father could do it!

I do not know what else to do! I believe it is from the Muslim world that the most effective support must come. But I do not know what that would look like. It seems that because of the misguided efforts of our CIA in propping up the Shah, and denying the Iranian people their elected leader, Mohammad Mossadegh, in 1953, the U.S. has little moral authority in this matter? We were also lied to and manipulated by the recent Bush administration into an illegitimate war in Iraq. How do we stand on our ideals of supporting democracy, when we have done such a poor job?

Also, please know here in the U.S. we do not ever hear of Muslims passionate in support of democracy: we much more have the impression that the vast majority of Muslims support theocracies. This struggle between democracy and religion was at the heart of the U.S. revolution in 1776 and for many years before and after. It was narrowly defeated in the writing of the U.S. Constitution and was a struggle for many years later to root out the remaining religious (Christian) oppression until the separation of church and state was distinct and valued widely.

Yet, recently, specifically under the George W. Bush administration, Christian fundamentalist religious influence was again being promoted within the U.S. government. Thankfully, with the election of President Barack Hussein (I love that!) Obama, this influence will again subside.

Iranians, please know that one of President Obama’s senior advisors, with whom he meets with every day in his small, senior staff meetings, is Valerie Jarrett. She was born in Shiraz, Iran in 1956! So, please know that the efforts of the Iranian people are very much in our thinking and close to our hearts, from "regular" people to the highest offices.

Does anyone else have real actions we can do, other than express our sympathy? That feels so ineffectual!

I feel such admiration for the courage I have seen, and such sorrow for the sacrifices that have been made. My heart is with you. What your people have accomplished is very great and very important.

When a great river goes underground, it continues to flow with power, and emerges again later into the sunlight more powerful than before. If this is a time when the river of your action goes underground, we will know that it is still powerful, we will not forget, and we will wait for it’s re-emergence in power.

  • I am an American and there is so much I want to say to you. Yesterday, President Obama spoke about the courage and dignity of the Iranian people, and he spoke for all of us. To see you fight for your democracy is to remember again the sweetness of democracy. And to see the creative and brave ways in which you have pressed your cause, is to be in awe of the Iranian spirit. We do not criticize you. We are all in awe of you!

One very important newspaper in America had an editorial yesterday in which a very experienced writer said he bows down his head to the Iranian youth, and we all do. And we will do everything in our power to support you. We are all watching what is happening; and we will bear witness. What you are enduring will NOT be forgotten, and will not be in vain. Those who have sacrificed will not be forgotten.

Remember to stay strong, and keep your faith in your cause and in all that you have done. Remember that revolutions sometimes take time; they do not happen in a week or a month sometimes. But have have already accomplished anything? I want to say most strongly, you have accomplished so much already!!! You have changed the foundations of your country. You have shown incredible bravery and joy and love for each other.. . You have united the entire international community in your cause. You have scared the tyrants so much that they felt they had no choice but to come after you with violence. You may not be able to see it now, but your country will never be the same. You have done that much, in just a week.

Rest, be patient, gather your strength, remember there is time; mourn Neda’s death when it is 40 days. The world will be watching no matter how long it takes. The world will be waiting to see how and when it can help you. We will remember; and we will always support you.

My god is not your god. But I say to you Allahu Akbar, and I say to you (what I have learned from the Iranian people) "Do not be afraid. Do not be afraid. We are all together." We will always be here for you.

It has been a painfull experince to see and read a small fraction of the horrific reality you are having to live through at this moment in time. My life here in the UK is on hold. I cannot bear to turn of my computer and deal with the trivialities of my daily life, as it feels like I am turning my back on you.

It is a very strange feeling I have never had before. To feel so close to so many unknown people from a completely different culture, and so far away from the freedoms and comforts of my own life.

I have nothing but the GREATEST respect and admiration for you as a people. The courage and bravery I have witnessed over the last week has left me completley humbled. You have changed my perception drastically on Iran, and I thank you dearly for that.

For as long as I live I will never hear a bad word spoken of the TRUE IRANIANS! and will defend you in absence against the ignorance of my own countrymen, with the same passion I have seen you display this week.

Kahmeini and Achmedinejad are finished, you have sealed their fate, and the freedoms that you are fighting for will surely come.

Infiltrate their system to it’s deepest core and rip out it’s black heart!

  • I BEG of you, do not give up hope. So many people support you in your cause; so many people are enraged at the violence executed.

I am only a 19 year old American (not Iranian) but I have been incensed to witness the struggle in Iran. I have tried to stay as informed as possible on the situation, while knowing that I only get a glimpse. Neda is being lamented throughout the internet, with artwork and songs already dedicated to her. So many videos of her and other young Iranians are being viewed so many thousands of times. Meanwhile, certain state-run news from Iran have been viewed around 10 times, most likely to ridicule them. It is quite easy to do.

Regardless of whether our president supports you sufficiently, so many others do. I have seen t-shirts with "Where’s my Vote?" for sale. I plan on making a wristband and possibly a shirt out of the green cloth which is laying beside me. Videos show Iranians of Europe and the United States protesting your plight. I have seen protestors burn photos of Ahmadinejad on the streets. In the city which I live, Iranian-Americans have demonstrated downtown, with one man wearing the Iranian flag upon his back. As I type I hear the television in the other room speaking on the demonstrations in Iran today.

Despite the attempts of the regime to silence you, so many have been heard. Please do not give up; we cling to any news we receive. With the reporters expelled, the majority of what we see is from the revolutionaries themselves from cellphone videos.

I ache to hear of your victory. I feel like shouting "God is great" from my own rooftop.

On the matter of their websites marking protesters for later arrests: My good God, the world is full of hackers but when we truly need them to use their skills for a GOOD CAUSE, they are nowhere to be found!!! WHERE ARE YOU HACKERS WHEN A NATION NEEDS YOU?

I beg you all, please for the sake of keeping the struggling protesters in Iran safe, hack into the following islamic republic sites: gerdab.ir and

      ahestan.wordpress.com

Please, PLEASE, help us bring down these sites that target our students, brother, sisters and freedom fighters.

First and foremost, I want to say that you, the people, have all the power you need in order to win this fight. You just have to know how to use it. I’m not Iranian, so I can’t give you explicit instructions, but if this revolt means that much to you, your identity as a protester will have to supersede any other allegiance you have. You also have to never give up hope, because it is incredibly contagious. Unfortunately, so is despair. I’m not condoning violence, but you need to do something that sends a clear message to everybody (citizens, military, and Supreme Leaders alike).

You’ve really accomplished a great deal, already. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect any nation’s people to peacefully stand up to the supreme ruling power. I’m not talking about presidents and the like. You guys are fighting for a brand-new political structure, and you’ve already taken care of the hard part. You’ve got the support of the international community, and believe me, if any of us actually had political/economic ties to cut, we’d cut them. Sadly, the US can’t do much more without directly intervening. And a direct intervention would probably be nothing more than black ops to eliminate targets carefully-selected by the US. Too bad we spent our "we must get rid of the evil dictator" excuse on Saddam Hussein. Bad timing.

Taking all the money out of banks is a brilliant idea to strike from within if you can find a reason convincing enough to cause widespread panic. No offense, but because of how successful fear-mongering is, I’m sure somebody can come up with something. Have you guys been thinking of any ways to free all of the arrested protesters? I bet thousands of prisoners could cause one hell of a riot if you can get through the security.

My last bit of advice is to think outside of the box. If you’ve been proactive, try being reactive and undo the damage done. If you’ve been reactive, try to preempt their next move. Good luck. Everyone’s cheering for you.

Words can not describe how useless we feel, our thoughts are with you and our hearts ache for our brothers and sisters and our land.

We will do everything we can, ANYTHING we can.

Stay strong and true to your beliefs whatever they may be, and in a moment of dispair please think of us and know that we ARE watching, the WORLD is watching, and we believe in you...

  • Billions of prayers from billions of people to one God 24 June 2009 22:36, by Rachel from Florida

May God find you and show you that you have the power. It is burning inside you. It is burning inside us all. Liberty cannot be stopped. Life cannot be stopped. God has bestowed upon you the gift of free will. The gift of choice. Your people did not ask for this burden but you must accept this task for the sake of the world itself. God has chosen you to bring peace to the middle east, a place torn apart by wars for far too long.

God is on your side, as are the people of the free world. We will not abandon you. We will not let you be silenced. We are listening, we are watching, and we are praying harder than we have ever prayed in our lives. You are doing the right thing. May you find peace soon, my friend.

    • You, the young men and women of Iran, you who are no older than my own children have reclaimed the honor of a nation with courage and rare character. For this you have bled and some have paid the ultimate price. Living in the United States, I don’t know how to repay this debt. This I promise to the children of Iran, I will do all that is in my power, and hopefully someday I will get the chance to thank you for allowing us once again to be proud of being Iranian.

  • Please do not despair, although I literally cannot imagine how difficult your battle is. As so many others have said, we are with you, we are all one, you are not alone, we are all citizens of the world together. This matter is not just important for the fate of Iran, but of the wave of unity sweeping the planet. You have galvanized much of the planet to come together to do whatever they can to help, little as that is. There are demonstrations in your support all over the world.

Our media is saturated with your "imperfect" videos and reports. You don’t know how perfect they are. I wouldn’t know who to ask to play them - every station/channel/site already is. Whenever the media references something released by the Iranian government, they always label it as such, with the clear implication that we know it can’t be trusted. No one pays any attention to the "official" statements from Iran, other than it being demonstrative of the latest lies.

Your struggle and your courage have electrified the world. Iran has become a potent symbol of the global battle of hope over fear, love over hate, peace over war, creation over destruction - and the wave of hope and love that seems to be washing over the world right now. We see ourselves in you.

After 2 fraudulent U.S. elections, we applaud your courage - the courage that we lacked. We let ourselves believe that to disrupt the country by not accepting the "election" results would be worse than any damage that could be done by the wrong man sitting on the throne for a few years - & sadly, we were wrong.

Know that you have already won - in so many ways. I have heard it said that the significance of Khomeini having to admit to any need for investigation at all after blessing the election results weakens the theocracy tremendously. It has been said over and over again, that you have put a human face on Iran. A few weeks ago, when we thought of Iran, we thought of Ahmedinejad. Now we think of your faces. Before when the world thought of Iran, our hearts hardened - now our hearts warm, tears come to our eyes, and we utter a prayer for your safety. The world will never think of Iran, or its current regime, the same again.

But yes, the eyes of the world are on you, and if you can hold firm, I do believe the other countries will have to take increasingly stronger action against this fraud. The hearts of the world go out to you - whatever you consider winning, if you hold firm, you can have it.

However, there is indeed something to be said for personal safety. Please know that, as obsessed with the news of your struggles as I am, I have NEVER heard anyone criticize the lack of green or black. I think everyone just assumes when there’s an unusual crowd, it’s the movement. Please be very careful with yourselves - you are a gift to this planet. Do not deprive us of your strength unnecessarily.

For those who have already fallen, and those who unfortunately are probably soon to fall, know that they are true fallen warriors - know that every death makes the world community that much more concerned, and gives us that much more moral authority when we are eventually able to act in a unified manner. Unfortunately, due to past history, aided by current deliberately misleading propaganda, there is so little that anyone outside of the country can do now. The Iranian government is claiming that you beautiful warriors are merely puppets controlled by us - the last thing that would help is for them to have actual footage to edit misleadingly.

It’s the fear thing again. Conservative elements, whether in power or in the general populace, tend to be harshly ruled by fear. As you know, there’s little more frightening than having to accept that your government, which has so much control over you, is corrupt. It’s so much more comforting to believe that they’re only looking out for your best interests, and all those people in the streets are really the enemy - just agents of the Western empires who have abused you for so long - and unfortunately, there’s a lot of truth in the history of that, which makes it really easy to believe is happening now.

We know. We have our own conservatives so ruled by fear as to have become completely irrational. The worst thing we could do for you is to give these lies ammunition. Your government has already used us against you, trying to paint you the enemy because you’re in collusion with us - & they have (obviously "coerced") videotaped confessions to prove it. President Obama is not selling you out - neither are any of the other leaders. It is our belief that any support he attempts to provide to you will only work against you by inciting the conservative elements in your own country against you. You cannot win without the moderates joining you, and you probably need a few conservatives as well. You cannot get this by appearing to be aligned with the U.S., not even President Obama.

I realize it must be tremendously difficult for you to get information as it is to get out - but know this. Elements of your very moving letter show that your experience of the world’s reaction to this struggle is completely different than mine. I have heard nothing but respect for you, nothing but support for your cause, no criticisms of you at all. You are heroes, and the entire world knows this and is praying for your safety and your success, Inshallah.

  • We are at a critical point! Request from Iranians outside of Iran 25 June 2009 00:06, by an Iranian outside of Iran

    My brothers and sisters,

We are in awe of your courage. Your brave defiance of the brutal dictatorship makes us all proud to be Iranian.

Iran’s path to freedom is paved by the blood of her youth and the tears of her elders.

Do NOT give up because you will succeed. The regime will collapse under the weight of its own brutality as it has already started attacking itself. The more they try to silence you the more divisions within the system are becoming apparent. Fear is the glue that has held this tyrannical regime together and the vicious agents of fear are starting to stand out.

For far too long, you have witnessed a few bloodthirsty animals keep millions of good Iranian people in check. But, the animals have now met their match in you.

  • There is a man I look up to, a man I never met, whose writings taught me the value of liberty and sacrifice for one’s inherent rights.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." - Thomas Jefferson

Today, and for weeks now, the Iranian people have shed blood and tears, given life and property, lost family and hope, all for what they correctly believe to be their inherent right: freedom towards self-determination and self-government. The ability to choose. The ability to even have a choice. The freedom to defend oneself and one’s family and property from an oppressive tyrannical theocracy, and to, once and for all, decide the fate of their own nation, of their own people, free from such corrupted influences.

No longer will they wear the yolk of the oppressed, no longer will they lay, boot to neck, content to do nothing. The point at which such subservience could be tolerated is far past.

To the Iranian people, I say do not worry if this fight will be won. To the Iranian people I say: You have already won.

For so long as your struggle is fought, so long as you remember, so long as you have had the courage to stand up, no matter how brutally you are put down each time, this farce of a government will never own you, will never be able to take away your struggle, your voice, or the life that you have lived in service to a cause greater than yourself.

You have ceased to be a people. You have become an ideal. The very ideal that has for millennium been quietly whispered and sometimes shouted around the globe, in all countries: That no man, no government, has a right to oppress, murder, or indiscriminately hinder any man, woman, or child from their own potential in life.

You have become the wind of freedom. Unstoppable. Irrepressible. Though your own lives may be struck so cruelly down, never will your spirit die, never will what you have fought for have been in vain. And if the government succeeds in putting rebellion down now, always there will be a rumble across the world, waiting, patiently, for the chance to rise up again and cast them off.

Because if there is anything in life that is worth fighting for, to the death, if ever there was anything worth sacrificing oneself for, it is freedom.

And this, my friends, all of you, is what you already have. To live in freedom or die in freedom is still to be free. Nothing will ever take this from you. And nothing, even if you are imprisoned or die, will steal the memory of your struggle from our hearts, for we struggle with you.

Do not lose hope, fight on, we are with you. We will stand beside you. We will seek to do more. You are not alone in your hopes, and not alone in your efforts.

Insha’allah, what you seek will be yours.

Look not to politicians, but to yourselves. Lead, and the world will follow. Already we act to help you secure your country. Through mutual brotherhood and sacrifice, we succeed.

Never again will the world be the same. You have already changed the world brothers and sisters, together, you have inspired the entire world to fight with you. Do not doubt yourselves that you have forever changed your own country.

    Insha’allah, freedom for all.

    • Please ignore this message from an obviously ignorant person who has no knowledge of the history between Iran and America; that if Obama took such a stand, it would harm the efforts of the brave Iranian protesters and help the vile government by playing into its hands (they already are blaming foreign governments for causing the protests). The Iranians know EXACTLY where Obama stands on this, and that anything he does MUST be done behind the scenes. This uprising in Iran is about the Iranian people, and we need to stop trying to score cheap political points here in the US when doing so only helps the Iranian government legitimize their oppressive acts.

  • I am in the United States, and I can tell you that we Americans support your fight. Please do not give up hope! And do not let anyone ever tell you that President Obama does not support the Iranian people and your cause; he just cannot say it publicly. The free world stands behind you, and the United States stands behind you; don’t you ever forget that! Our spirits and prayers are always with you, and you my brothers and sisters have already accomplished a great deal. I truly believe you are on the path to the freedoms you as a people seek.

  • I’ve been following the crisis from Britain and I’ve been inspired by the courage, dignity and passion of the protesters. I know that many of my friends in America, Ireland and Canada feel the same. We all support you. Dictators may seem powerful and it’s often a hard, bloody road to freedom. But in the last 25 years people power has defeated dictators in the Philippines,South Korea, East Germany,Czechoslovakia, Romania, Indonesia,Serbia, Ukraine, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan. The tide of history is against the dictators and for freedom. You will triumph in the end.

I would also add that it is not just opinion in the West that is outraged by the brutality. I’ve read reports in papers in Muslim countries such as Indonesia and Turkey on murder of Neda and the suppression.

I will do all I can to help you.

  • Dear "Iranian blogger",

however u r called and whereever u r. everybody understands, that u r tired, scared, frightened, weakened and all. But one thing be sure: u r absolutely not alone. It’s just difficult to decide form outside, how it’s really possible to help u. I was for example some days also ddos’in iranian gov pages, until i often read on twitter ppl iranians askn us to stop, cause it would bring down all the few bandwidth of iran and thus makin it more difficult for the iranian protestors to pass out their messages, pics, etc.

Some days ago I read a request to wear yesterday as protest green. I pulled out my only green pullover and wear it since that. Yesterday i was even in 2 shops trying to buy some big piece of fabric, as similar as possible to the green i saw on all pics, but couldnt find anything. Ill search again today. Maybe too many others had the similar idea: i wanzted to put it over the trunk hood of my car and outside the window.

My upstream line is unfortunately much too slow for a tor knot. I wished i had a faster one to provide another proxy.

All this is for sure very few and doesnt help u, when a basiji is chasing u. I wished i could do more.

But one thing i can do: asure u u r whatever, but not alone. be sure many hundred million, if not billion ppl allover the world r prayin for u, anxious watchin what happens and supportin u. WE ARE ALL WITH YOU!!!

Just probably many, like me as well, don’t really know, how to best help you.

Next time when u run think of all the ppl who send u mentally all their energy, maybe it helps u like the players of a socker team, when they hear their fans. And also don’t feel weak or a coward when u run from the thuigs. Apeaceful revolution ir ur only chance. Be proud, that u run instead of hiding like many others. But ur example will for sure encourage more and more ppl to stand by ur side. And somewhen they will have to change their course. No country in the world can build enough prsons for many million ppl!

I send u all my best wishes and energy, and if we really see, what we can do, if its good for example to ddos iran be sure, that there r millions waiting to not just bring down iranian gov sites, butto make their servers melt under the attacks.

  • Three weeks ago the Iranian elections were totally insignificant - certainly in the UK no one either knew or cared what was going to happen. That was 3 weeks ago. For the past 2 weeks we have been following every video, every speech, every tweet, every rumour and counter rumour. We believe we are watching the beginnings of change in Iran. The end of 30 years of tyranny. You have done this. You have turned your country upside down. You against all the odds have got your voice heard. You have rattled the dictators. You have exposed splits right through the regime. You are amazing! You are so brave. You will win. It’s only been 2 weeks, and all the serious commentators in the west are saying the regime will never be the same again. Many many many are saying this is the beginning of the end. You have done this! It may be time to take the protests of the streets, just because its not in the open, doesn’t mean it’s not happening. You don’t have to be on the streets to win. Your voices have been heard. The evil regime’s days are numbered and those numbers are very small! God sees every bruise that has been inflicted - and in the right time He will act. I read earlier this week that this is more of a marathon than a sprint, and endurance will be as important as speed. Dear friend you have had the speed - 2 weeks???!!!!!!! Now is time for endurance. Don’t give up. You are winning.
